Chianni is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pisa in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 60 km southwest of Florence and about 35 km southeast of Pisa. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,582 and an area of 62.0 kmē. Chianni borders the following municipalities: Casciana Terme, Castellina Marittima, Lajatico, Riparbella, Santa Luce, Terricciola.
In Tuscany, not far from the traditional crowded tourist sites lies the medieval town of Chianni (Province of Pisa) in the middle of a wild and beautiful valley. A strategic position from which you can reach the most important classic tourist sites with the advantage of finding yourself in an isolated and wild part of the country made of woods, fields and streams to explore.
Volterra, Peccioli, Terricciola, Casciana Terme, Lajatico as well as the chief town Chianni are situated in an area of 20 km and give the visitor the opportunity to discover the surrounding countryside which has not been spoiled by mass tourism and is rich with culture as the beauty of the towns and villages, the summer music and theatre festivals and the food and wine itineraries can demonstrate.
Art cities such as Pisa, Siena and San Gimignano are about 50 km away, while Florence, Lucca and the beaches at Cecina and Vada (in the province of Livorno) can be reached in about half an hour by car; continuing south there is the beautiful Maremma and the Etruscan coast.
The valley of Miemo, so called from the small village that lies among its hills, will surprise anyone who has visited Tuscany without passing through the Commune of Chianni, a small growing village retaining its rural features and with a territory that still has to be discovered made of hills, woods, torrents, streams, waterfalls, walking and bicycle itineraries.

Among numerous celebrations taking place periodically in Chianni is the traditional "Wild Boar Festival" held yearly in the middle of November and lasting six days. During the festival it is possible to attend some folkloristic parades and exhibits of street artists and also to admire the products of local craftsmanship and taste excellent local dishes.
