Alta Valderra region

There are few places anywhere in Europe that have yet to be 'discovered' as tourist destinations. One such area is Tuscany's Valdera Valley. It seems incredible that it is so overlooked as, in so many ways, it is classic Tuscany.

Alta Valderra

The Valdera Valley is a region steeped in fascinating history, and makes for an inspirational destination for visitors that have either deliberately sought out, or perhaps accidentally encountered its many charms in passing through to elsewhere. When we say the Valdera Valley - named after its river, the Era - is 'classic Tuscany', we mean that it possesses the same sun-drenched, agricultural beauty and timeless ambience. The valley is studded with medieval villages, ancient churches, forts and castles across its rolling green farmland - creating an evocative landscape.

The natural produce of the Valdera is amongst the finest in Italy: grapes, olives, cherries, peaches, lemons, cheeses and golden wheat dominate, but like all areas with concentrated farmland, what it produces is greatly varied. The area is also renowned for flavoursome, regional spaghetti sauces, great wines and wonderful breads that serve to enhance the deserved excellent reputation of Tuscan cuisine further still.

There are many enchanting towns and villages in the Valdera Valley, each with its own charm and identity. Built perched on hilltops long ago for strategic purposes, Peccioli, Lajatico, Volterra, Chianni, Terricola and Palaia now offer magnificent panoramas of the surrounding region.

The gentle pace of life here is pretty much constant, and a far cry from existence almost anywhere in the UK, further promoting the Valdera Valley as a perfect destination for relocation. To live full-time in such lovely surroundings can only be very good for the soul - unless you may be thinking of purchasing Italian property for rental purposes or as a holiday home? Whatever your intentions, property in the Valdera Valley certainly represents a solid investment.

We at Totally Tuscany can offer you a wide range of magnificent Tuscan property in this gorgeous location such as studios or apartments, villas or farmhouses. Property for sale in Tuscany is in constantly high demand, particularly in regions such as the Valdera Valley.
